The world is a dangerous place, not because of those
who do evil, but because of those who look on and do
nothing."
-Albert Einstein

The Trouble with the Alphabet is more than a book. It is a campaign to
raise awareness and to instill a greater sense of social responsibility
among all people. Not only is the alphabet a fundamental starting point
for learning, it is symbolic of the global misunderstandings and differences
between countries and cultures. What better place to begin to change, to
learn compassion and to erase indifference.

The book is only the beginning. There will also be multi-media exhibits that
travel from museum to museum, mall to mall and to children’s hospitals
globally to inspire and educate. These exhibits will be a display of the 30
original paintings (26 portraits from the book as well as the words Peace,
Freedom, Equality and Hope). Each painting is 18×18 inches and they will
be displayed 5 across and 6 deep. A high tech control panel will allow
visitors to select a letter of the alphabet. The corresponding painting will
then be illuminated as a child’s voice is heard in high definition surround
sound reciting the poetic message about the country. These will be
powerful and compelling exhibits that open eyes, engage hearts and
promote change.

We will also be developing merchandise around the creative property that
inspired the book; merchandise that will support our core mission… to
educate and inspire. In addition to posters, and prints on canvas, there
will be jigsaw puzzles (both table top and chunky floor puzzles for
children), Christmas ornaments, canvas totes, t-shirts, silk scarves,
bracelets and more. Besides raising awareness, these products will also
support the organizations that we are working with through a portion of the proceeds.
